Black Trans Lives Matter Community Mural

In honor of Claire Legato, Michelle Simone, and Muhlaysia Booker Cynthia Huerta created a canvas mural honoring the lives of these Black Trans women that were murdered. The mural was to bring to light the violence against Black Trans women. She was awarded the Emerging Artist Grant from the City of Riverside and thus funded this community mural. The community of Riverside came together to paint the backdrop for the portraits of the women and it was displayed for the month of June for Pride at Inland Mujeres studio, which Huerta also curated.
